Burgruine Templštejn
Next to the ancient church of St. Mark on the so-called
Beautiful Mountain there used to stand a castle. Now only
small remnants of walls are preserved. It was founded by
a clan of Mostiště sometime in the late 13th century. The
castle was probably destroyed in the Hussite wars, because
it is no longer mentioned, and the farm became a part of
the Meziříčí dominion.
The castle standing on a rock above the valley of
the River Oslava was probably built in the 13th
and 14th century. The building in the hillside was
separated from the surrounding hills by a wide
moat. The preserved remains of the forecastle are
the corner tower (to a height of about two metres)
and the remains of a ditch. It was probably a castle
guarding and controlling a major road, which
could be the valley of the river Oslava. The castle
was probably abandoned in the 15th century.
The Old Synagogue dates from the late
17th century. Our attention is drawn to
the Baroque-Classicist stone portal with
a wrought-iron door. Because of the small
space the New Synagogue was built in the
years 1868–1870. The synagogue served
its purpose until 1940. Currently, the Old
Synagogue is under reconstruction and the
New Synagogue is rented by the Jewish
community for commercial purposes.
Die Alte Synagoge stammt aus dem Ende
des 17. Jahrhunderts. Sie fesselt uns mit
einem barock-klassizistischen Steinportal
mit einer beschlagenen Tür. Weil die Räume
zu klein waren, wurde 1868 – 1870 die
Neue Synagoge erbaut. Ihrem Zweck diente
sie bis zum Jahr 1940. Zurzeit wird die Alte
Synagoge renoviert und die Neue Synagoge
vermietet die Judengemeinde Brno zu
Handelszwecken.
Die Felsenburg entstand über dem Flusstal von
Oslava wahrscheinlich um die Wende von 13.
und 14. Jh. Der Bau am Hügelabhang wurde
von der herumliegenden Höhe mit einem breiten
Graben getrennt.
Jahrhunderts verlassen.

Ruins of the castle Tasov
Kastellruine Tasov
The fortress was built in Tasov at the time when Tasov
was a centre of the dominion. It was first mentioned
in the year 1390 as the seat of local squires. After the
Hussite movement the castle was held by the squires of
Chlévské, but they did not dwell on the fortress. It lost its
importance and it disappeared no later than in the first
half of the 16th century.
