In the summer months the municipal
swimming center Palouky is open on
Družstevní street, where you’ll find
a paddling pool, a swimming pool and
a water slide.
On cooler summer days you may
visit the tennis courts and a skittle lawn
on Sportovní street. And on Oslavická
street there is a newly constructed
traffic park for children.
Those interested in high-adrenaline
sports shouldn’t miss an opportunity
to visit the bike park on Fajtův kopec.
During the winter a ski lift operates on
the same hill. When there isn’t enough
snow for skiing, you may ice skate in
the winter stadium on Vrchovecká
street. Elsew here in town you´ll find
Discgolf park Kunšovec, bowling,
squash, spinning, and a gym, among
other athletic attractions.
The house, in which a successful hotel operates, had
the right of wine and beer taproom already in 1599.
As a historical building, it is a part of the Urban
Heritage Zone.

U Bílého koníčka
The pub U Bílého koníčka has existed
since1562. It first servedas a traveler’s
inn with stables in the courtyard.
It is said that Emperor Joseph II
would meet here surreptitiously with
EleonoraLichtenstein, theowner of the
castle. Sometime after 1850 the writer
Karel Havlíček Borovský stopped here
and left a note for his friendDr. Skřivan,
which is now preserved in the town’s
museum. It is now the location of
a hotel and restaurant.

„Zum
Weißen
Pferdchen“ stand in der Stadt
schon im Jahre 1562, damals war
es ein Einkehrgasthaus mit Ställen
im Hof. Kaiser Josef II. soll sich hier
heimlich mit der Schlossbesitzerin
Eleonora Liechtenstein getroffen
haben. Nach 1850 kam hier
Karel Havlíček vorbei und
hinterließ hier für seinen
Freund MUDr. Skřivan
eine Nachricht, die
bis heute im hie-
sigen Museum auf-
bewahrt ist. Heute
befindet sich hier
ein Hotel mit dem
Restaurant.
This was once the site of a mill
built in 1588 and notable for its
unusually long flume (920 m),
which served multiple purposes.
In 1905 Karel Jelínek built a
hydroelectric plant here to provide
electricity for the town. The Hotel
Jelínkova vila and a restaurant
have stood here since 2004.
Restaurant specialties include
freshwater fish and Harrach beer
brewed on the premises.
